My Wedding Website!
I know that there are some wedding website services out there, but I wasn't able to find one that came even close to what I was looking for. So many of them are very cookie cutter in their style and design. I also wanted it to be consistent with my invitations designed by my good friend Jayne, so I decided to be adventurous and build my own wedding website! I thought that it would only take a few hours, but I had a lot to learn and let's just say it took me a lot longer than that. However, I am finally done with it and I am pretty happy with how it turned out! I don't think that it's too bad considering it's my first website. So hop on over to SamandMorgan.com and look around!

Houston
I am in Houston for a few days for work... and I might say I am really enjoying the weather! It's 75 degrees and humid. Just nice to have a change from Utah.

Wedding Inspiration Board
Just wanted to post my inspiration board I put together so I can keep my crazy brain organized! There is a lot of wedding ideas and colors out there, so making this has helped me to stay focused... for the most part :) I decided to incorporate LOTS of colors in the decor. Here is the sneak peek!

The Proposal
Wow. It really has taken me forever to get around to posting about the night we got engaged! It happened Saturday,January 29th... over 2 weeks ago. Man, time flies. Anyways, Sam and I were just out and about most of Saturday running errands, when about 7:30 p.m. he starts talking about how hungry he is and how his brother told him about this really great buffett downtown. I wasn’t really all that hungry to I tried to convince him that we should just go get some burritos and go home... but he seemed pretty insistant that we go to the buffet... Meanwhile I started to get bugged because I was thinking “ He really doesn’t care about what I want to do right now!” But I decided to just dothings “his way” and go. Well, we end up walking by the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and Sam says “ I haven’t been in here before, is that ok if we go in?” Well, Sam seemed to really know his way around and pretty soon we ended up at the top of the building at The Roof. “Reservations for two.” I was like “reservations?” Our table was right in front of a big bay window showcasing the temple.
The hostess showed us our table, and there were a dozen roses waiting for me. I looked at Sam and he a had a huge smile on his face, meanwhile I felt bad for getting mad at him for making me come all the way downtown to go to a "buffet!" Anyways, long story short, we had a nice meal with a great view. Did you know the roof offers 25 desserts? Their rolls are to die for, as well as their cordon bleu. I had a feeling something was going to happen that night, but then I wasn't sure if he was throwing me off. We finished eating and while walking by some big bay windows right outside of the restaurant, Sam said " hmmm.... what's that?" I looked down and saw this:
Then I turned around and Sam was on his knee with this:
I said " Of course!" and after a little crying, hugging and kissing we went down to meet our families and took a carriage ride around the temple. It was a memorable night for sure. I know it's cliche, but I feel so lucky to have found my best friend.

ski day
Last week Sam and I decided to venture up to Brighton for our first ski/snowboard day of the season ( can you guess who skis and who snowboards?) We went on the same that mother nature decided to dump on us! I have never seen so much powder. At first, it was a great thing! Then a good thing, then a getting buried to my knees and losing my skis and getting owned on the mountain thing. Despite my soreness the next day, I still had a great time. If I have the money I am hoping to go again before the end of the season... cross my fingers!

Festival of Trees
Ok, so I know that I am behind, but I had forgotten about these pictures from the festival of trees! This year I had the pleasure of designing a tree along with my friend Heather for the company I work for. Although it was a lot more work than I thought, I was happy to be a part of the festival and to see it all come together. The art was donated by the amazing artist Liz Lemon Swindle. The festival was so crazy busy it was hard to even get a good shot of it!

Pomplamoose performs "Deck the Halls"
So I saw this commercial the other day, and I was dying to know the name of the clever band performing in it. Yesterday I finally had tome to catch up with some blogs and the flowerchild dwelling did a post about them! I strongly recommend looking at all of their other covers on their music page. Pomplamoose is so creative and fun.... can you believe, 2 more days til' Christmas? Where did December go?
