Merry Christmas

Wow, I am so proud of myself for posting something right now... haha. It has been awhile. The Christmas  season has proved to be busy, but great. I am so excited to continue celebrating this weekend. Merry Christmas from The Rapps!
P.S. You may have noticed that my blog got a little makeover... which was a result of me being bored one saturday afternoon. It still needs a little bit of work, but I have been digging simplistic designs lately.

Midnight Snack

So, the other night I was lying in bed around midnight and it suddenly hit me... i was starving! Normally I try to not eat to late, but my a sudden hunger pains convinced me to make an exception. Cute Sam popped right out of bed and said " I will be right back." Well, meanwhile I "pinned" on my phone, checked facebook, my email... he was taking forever! I mean, how long does it take to grab some oreos? Well, then he walks in and surprises me with this.
Toasted pita bread with garlic salt, fresh cut mozzarella cheese, tomato, and fresh Basil. Fancy. I was so shocked I couldn't stop laughing. And of course, his cute face made it even better.

On the Beach in SF

Today I was organizing some of my picture folders and came across this picture of Sam and I when we first started dating. Only a couple weeks after our first date, I moved to San Francisco for the summer. We knew from the very beginning that we liked each other. A lot. Which is why Sam eventually came out to visit me for my Birthday, and hence, the photo. This picture brings back a lot of memories of those crazy emotions that happen when you are first in love... I would have to say that even when this picture was taken, I had a hunch he was going to be my husband. Can you tell? :)

Our Weekend

-Went to a darling baby shower... i swear lately I see babies everywhere!
-Babysat our cute niece Chloe, and watched the jungle book. Twice.
-In the process of morphing RSVP Custom Invitations into The Spark Collective. Watch out for some unique, new Holiday Card designs this year!
-Pumpkin bread. You are the reason I gain weight throughout the Holidays.
-Oh Yeah, and how could I forget, after many months of wishing and drooling every time I see one, I finally jumped in and got an iphone. I love it!

Chicago Part One

Oh, why hello blog! Let's just pretend that Sam and I went to Chicago last week instead of 4 months ago so I can feel like I actually keep up with this thing shall we? While Sam and I lived in Milwaukee we made the hour drive to Chicago, which is an amazingly fun city to walk around in... expensive... but fun! We enjoyed the food, shopping, industrial architecture, and of course, taking the classic jumping pictures. I even posted one of my awkward ones that was a result of a billion other pictures we took before I got the perfect shot so I could pretend that it only took one effortless jump. Well, I am not ashamed to say that it took me a good ten pics before I stumbled upon the last shot, then my husband got the perfect shot on his first try. Those husbands... always showing us up at things. But we really did fall in love Chicago. I can't say that there is any other city out there like it! The whole place just oozes the roaring 1920's. I wish i could have seen it back then! But I doubt that it has changed much... more pics to come.

Time to change things up...

So I tried the ombre hair thing this summer, but it was time to go back to brunette for the fall. I will post the final results once I get a chance to do my hair all cute... the good news is, my husband likes it!

How we almost missed Adele...

Hello little blog of mine. So, in my last  post I asked a question to my readers, which was if they had any free fonts they loved... and the response? Nothing. It's ok, I fully realize that maybe 5 people actually read this blog, and probably 4 out of 5 of those readers are members of my family, so no feelings hurt. I have no idea how people build up their personal blog to have a bajillion readers! I think that they probably post a heck of a lot more than I do... and have giveaways, and take pictures of themselves in cute little outfits... which is something I don't really do either. So meanwhile I will just keep blogging for myself and my own record keeping, which is good enough for me. Anyways... funny story for you. So, my oldest sister Elysha bought concert tickets to Adele way back in May, but her concert got cancelled due to Adele being sick. It was rescheduled for this August and my sister was going to be out of town and couldn't go, so she offered us the tickets. Sam and I were MAJORLY tempted, but we have been trying to save up for a new computer so we reluctantly said no.... well, a few days ago I was playing around on my husband's phone, and noticed a texting conversation he had with my sister... and me being curious clicked on it to see what it was about, and found out Sam was going to surprise me with the tickets! I didn't want to ruin the surprise, so I decided I was going to let Sam "surprise" me anyways. The concert was on Sunday and all week I had been secretly excited to go... then Sunday came around and Sam and I got so busy with the day put the concert in the back of my mind. Around 6 while Sam was playing video games with my brother and I hopped on the computer, I suddenly remembered that the concert was suppose to start in an hour, and Sam hadn't said a thing! So I was in a predicament. Do I tell my husband I know about the concert and ruin the surprise? At that point I was convinced he had forgotten about the whole thing, so I went and told him about my sneaky ways.. and he said, " The concert's tonight? I thought that it was in a couple of weeks!" So we rushed downtown to the SOLD OUT concert at the Gallivan Center just in time to hear Adele rock it out. She was amaaaazing. I love her. And did you know she is only 23? She seems so much older! She is pretty funny too. And we almost missed the whole thing! Good thing me being a curious cat payed off.... this time. Ha. Here are some shots from the night.

and a little video of one of my favorite songs.

My Favorite Fonts

Lately I have been feeling that this subject deserved a blog post... I am always looking on blogs for new free fonts to download, so I thought I might pass along my favorites! Do you have any free fonts you love? (p.s. I thought I would try out my wacom tablet and make the header in my own handwriting. What do you think?)

The July Wrap-up

What? It's August already? Sorry I have been MIA lately... I finally found a job! I am actually working at my last job, but this time in the graphic design department. Yay! I am really liking it, and can I say that I have never liked my job? SO this is a big deal for me. Lately I have been busy with work, along with all of those extra things that seem to take up my day. But I will try to blog more often now that I have gotten back into the routine of life. Anyways, here are some fun things that happened in July!

Guess what today is?

Guess what today is? My birthday! Is it lamo to blog on your birthday? I mean, usually most people are too busy on their birthdays to blog, but due to my current unemployment situation, I have had a lovely relaxing morning.  Today I am officially 25, a quarter of a century old. This age feels good... I wouldn't mind staying 25 for a while. And my birthday wish this year? A job! And if I am being picky, please send a job my way that I might actually like.  Meanwhile, I am happy to announce that I am working on a blog template store! I have had some requests for blog designs, but I realize not everyone has a budget for a custom design, so I am designing templates where you can change the pictures and the words, and tada! Your own cute, custom blog. More details soon!

Who You Are

Whoa. Has anyone else noticed their blogger dashboard go through a big transformation? It might take a little getting use to, but I am liking it. Sorry i have been MIA the last 2 weeks. Sam and I decided to move back to Salt Lake from Milwaukee! And now we are on the job/apartment hunt. Not my favorite, but such is the reality of life. Anyways, I need to do some catch up posts for sure. Meanwhile, I was looking through my blogroll and found this video via the flower child dwelling and thought that this girl sounded amazing. Also, I loved how the whole thing was filmed in the Subway.  Last year I tried something like this with my guitar, but I am pretty sure it wasn't half as cool as this.

Happy Belated Father's Day

Some things I love about my Dad are:
-How you prefer to be addressed as "Marcus Aurelius."
-How you take a trip to Costco just to eat samples
-How one Halloween you loved dressing as Spock so much you slept with your costume ears on.
-How you can remember the exact date and time of the Battle of the Bulge, but can't remember the name of my friend you met 10 times.
-How you can strike up a conversation with anyone about any topic, no matter how uncomfortable it makes them
-How you wear socks with sandals
-How you would rather be traveling than home.
-How you spend every Saturday afternoon at the movie theaters
-How you are always interested in all of your kids lives and love to hang out with them
-How you call me "your special Morg."

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

Awkward
  • You know how dreams can feel soooo real sometimes? Well I dreamed last night that I was 4 months prego! I woke up this morning and felt my stomach a million time just to make sure if it was real.
  • I was debating wether to post this, because it's pretty embarassing, but it was awkward in every sense of the word, so I had to.  I was in my robe, sitting in our chair on the computer,  when I decided i wanted to play my guitar. Well, as I leaned back to grab it, the chair flung back, along with my naked body which then slammed up against the window. Good thing no one was around because otherwise I would have given them quite the show.
  • My "alfalfa" hair moment  this weekend

Awesome
  • Finally got some of our wedding photos back! I will post more soon.

  • A husband who wants to watch another episode of the bachelorette more than I do.
  • This recipe...

  • This 1960's van

    This will make your day...

This week I should be getting back our pictures from the wedding! wohoo! Here is a sneak peak...I stole this hilarious picture of my grandma from the blog of our wedding photographer.  Isn't it awesome? It just makes me want to give her a big smooch!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday (a day late)

    Awkward
    • I went to Aldi for the first time (for those who don't know, it's a crazy cheap grocery store) and was so excited about the prices I stocked my cart full! Well, I got to the check out line and found out via the grumpiest checkout lady in the world that they don't take credit, and that was all I had with me. The lady was so mean about it, I left my filled-to-the-brim cart right by her register and quietly sneaked out. I hope she had to put it all back.  Muah ha ha.
    • Went to eat my mexican food leftovers and discovered I put my box straight in the freezer! I don't know if my brain even works sometimes!
    • How come all of the crazy people on the Bachlorette are from Salt Lake?
    • You know you need to do laundry when you lounge around in your husbands clothes for 3 days.
    • Finally shaved my legs after 3.5 weeks. Sam will be proud.
    • Cut my own bangs with craft scissors at home... let's just say they are shorter than what I had planned, but hair grows right?

    Awesome

    • Having a husband that will watch Anastasia with me, and not get annoyed by my singing along.
    • Finally organized all of my blogs in google reader! Yay!
    • Getting my hands on some new awesome actions. Thanks Tara!
    • My plants finally grew a strawberry!
    • Starting my very own collection of recipes. Any suggestions?
    • Went on a fun date with the husband. We had some food at a haunted bar ( for reals, they even had a 1920's picture of the ghost hung on the wall!), then played " If we had a house, what would you buy?" at the nearest home improvement store. Such is the life of a newlywed.
